Carlton tower fire - Seen it happening !

The horrible scene of smoke rushing out of windows is still live in my eyes. Women jumping from seventh floor was the height of craziness.(a neat case where panic proved to drive minds crazy). I saw four people jumping from such heights. I could feel, despite the emotional feel to rescue, there was nothing much in my hands. I felt hands tied. I saw people shouting from the multi storey building for help. One by one was gasping for breath and rushing towards nearby ventilators. Many broke of the glass ventilators and were trying to breath some fresh air.

Most were seeing the death in their own eyes. Some were ready to attempt a jump, luckily the mob gathered around the building shouted "dont jump". Souls stood with some last hope in great panic. May be 45 minutes was required for the rescue. Modern day offices have cubicles(cages). Atleast animals see thru the cages. Some of us cannot even feel the weather outside. That is why so many people were trapped.

Mere need for office space shouldn't constraint any company from choosing a safe place. In India, if you ask "Do you have escape plan for fire incident ?".. without dispute, you will be asked to shut-up for saying something inauspicious while starting a new venture. It needs some wise men in such ventures to think smart and digest a few safety measures like these. It is not enough if someone claims that people are real assets. The reality is even worse. Disaster recovery measures are there for data/hardware/business. Somewhere in the dark, the importance of a real asset(people) is fading away.

கையூட்டு (லஞ்சம்) - வாட்டிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் கொடுமை

மிகுந்த சிந்தனைக்கு பின் ஒரு உண்மை சம்பவம் ...

இந்த கையூட்டு பிரச்சனை எல்லா அரசு அலுவலகங்கிலும் இருக்கும். எல்லோரும் இதை ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் சந்தித்து வருகின்றனர்.

ஒரு நன்னாளில் தமிழக அரசு கட்டாய திருமண பதிவுச் சட்டத்தை நிறைவேற்றியது... அவ்வளவுதான் .. ஒவ்வொரு பதிவாளர் / சார்-பதிவாளர் மற்றும் பதிவாளர் அலுவலகத்தில் பனி புரியும் தலைமை கிளெர்க்கும் மிகுதியான மகிழ்ச்சியில் மூழ்கிவிட்டனர்.


காரணம் என்னவென்றால், திருமணபதிவுகளில் வரும் கையூட்டு. :-)

முறையல்லாத பத்திரப் பதிவுக்கு லஞ்சம் குடுத்து பழக்கி விட்டனர் மக்கள். இதே முறையில்.. முறையாக நடக்கும் திருமணங்களுக்கும் இந்த சமூகப் பேய்கள் லஞ்சம் கேட்டு வருகிறார்கள்.
அரசு பதிவாளர் அலுவலக நடைமுறை கண்டிப்பாக மாற்றப்படவேண்டிய ஒன்று !!! அந்த விடிவு காலம் எப்பொழுது ?

பாராட்ட பட வேண்டிய விஷயம்

இந்நிலையில், தேர்தலில் வாக்களிக்கும் ஜனநாயகக் கடமையை ஆற்றாமல் வீட்டிற்குள் முடங்கிக் கிடப்பவர்களுக்கு வேட்டு வைக்கும் விதமாக குஜராத் மாநில சட்டசபையில் ஒரு தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது. உள்ளாட்சிக்கான தேர்தல்களில் அனைவரும் வாக்களிக்க வேண்டும். அவ்வாறு வாக்களிக்காதவர்கள், ஏன் வாக்களிக்கவில்லை என்பதற்கான காரணத்தை ஒரு மாத கெடுவிற்குள் விளக்க வேண்டும். காரணம் அரசாங்கத்தை திருப்திப்படுத்தாவிடில் அவர்கள் தண்டனையை சந்திக்க நேரிடும். இதுதான் தற்போது நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டுள்ள சட்டம். வழக்கம்போல் எதிரிக்கட்சிகளின், குறிப்பாகக் காங்கிரஸின் எதிர்ப்புக் கூக்குரலுக்கிடையே இச்சட்டம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Train journey that I cherish

Travelling in train is not a new thing to me. Yet, I am fond of travelling in trains. I have also felt that, travelling in a day train gives more opportunity to view scenic beauties.

The route I have cherished the most is the railway line stretch between Omalur and Dharmapuri. (for those who wonder where these places are.. this is enroute salem to Bangalore travel path). The train passes over the beautiful thoppur ghats. Will post the pictures soon.
